About Me...


Ramona Szczerba, Ed.M., Ph.D. has been a licensed clinical psychologist practicing in San Diego and has been providing direct patient services for over 15 years.  She has worked at the Department of Psychiatry at UCSD treating patients and has also provided clinical supervision to psychiatric residents in the practice of psychotherapy.  She graduated from University of Delaware with a double major in Psychology and English and a minor in art, received her Master’s in Education in Counseling and Consulting Processes from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at California School of Professional Psychology in San Diego.  The findings from her dissertation, “Attitudes towards Gays and Lesbians and the Withholding of Reward: A Social Psychological Perspective” were presented as a paper at the 1999 American Psychological Association International convention.  Her treatment specialties include depression, anxiety disorders, gay and lesbian issues, infertility and working with law enforcement and rescue personnel. She has provided consultation & education to UCSD Outpatient Psychiatric Services, the Department of Homeland Security as well as other area businesses and organizations.

 Dr. Szczerba has a concurrent career as an artist, writer and illustrator.  Her artwork and short stories have appeared in several publications and galleries.  Her artwork can be seen at www.winonacookieillustration.com.
